It seems that every living instance found to date belongs to one branch or another of a family that immigrated from England (the Isle of Wight) to Ontario, Canada in the 19th century. In the early twentieth century, one of those Canadien Todgham's emigrated to Elyria, Ohio, and he had five children who in turn propagated.
Over time, the branches of the family lost touch, but by making recent contact via letters and personal visits, certain members of the clan have established that they share certain direct ancestors (usually grand-parents or great grand-parents). Getting out the shoebox of photos usually yields a few time worn photos that surprisingly match between collections that were built up independently ("How did you get a copy of that?")
This site attempts to consolidate the collection of data and photographs so that all the Todghams in the world today can share in their common heritage. This is a working site, and will evolve over time to include the contributions of many family members.
